Mr. President, you are my president… but you forgot to represent me!

Mr. President, you recently said and I quote “When things get tight people need to tighten their belts a bit.  They shouldn’t go out and blow a bunch of money on a boat or…”  You then went on to comment on how we should not blow a bunch of cash in Las Vegas.  Please explain to me why the government is exempt from this.  Yes both I and the American public, Liberals and Conservatives alike who are all hurting would like to understand how flying gourmet chefs into the White house to cook for you and others in the government represents tightening belts.  Please tell us how expanding the debt beyond the unimaginable represents “tightening belts.”  No please don’t tell me how you froze a small piece of next years spending  AFTER YOU RAISED IT!  represents “tightening belts.”

Mr. President, I am so disappointed in your lack of leadership.  Why can’t you see that example is the best form of leadership.   The solution to our problems is not spending more but spending less.  How can you decry the exorbitant lifestyles of the “Fat Cats” and then go out and surpass their extravagance yourself.  I ask you to solve the problems we have by cutting the budget not expanding it.

Mr. President you continue to repeat the claims of how you saved millions of jobs.  When we look at the employment sectors the only sector that grew was GOVERNMENT.  No other sector grew.  Did you save the jobs by not cutting government waste?  You grew the Federal budget by over 20% the first year you were in office.  Bush did not do this you did!  Can you imagine what the economy could do with that extra $700 billion or so!  Could you imagine how many jobs would be generated if you let the people keep that money?

Could you imagine that?  Let people keep their money and they will do the right thing.  No Mr. President I don’t think you could imagine that.  You are my President.  We only have one President at a time in this country.  However you forgot one very important thing on the way to the White house.  You forgot one thing in every speech where you say the word “I” so many times…  You forgot to represent me!

I am an independent observer of life... amused and at the same time frightened by those who speak for the people and make no personal commitment to their stated beliefs. If you believe in global warming make a small personal carbon footprint don't force others. If you believe in freedom of speech, allow others to speak. Elected leaders, represent everyone not just your special interest groups. If you condemn racism don't tolerate it within your own race. If an opinion does not match yours, listen with an open mind you may be the one who is wrong.
